FROM THE OFFICE OF THE METROPOLITAN
We are most pleased to announce that on 9 January 2007, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople accepted the decision of the 18th Regular Sobor of the UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE USA to “accept and embrace as the manifest will of the Holy Trinity, the nomination by Metropolitan Constantine of the venerable and God-fearing servant of God, Archimandrite Daniel (Zelinskyy) to the august and most responsible rank and authority of Bishop, successor to the Apostles and witness to the words and deeds of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ”. At the nomination of His All-Holiness Bartholomew I, Ecumenical Patriarch, the Holy Synod, gathered in the Great Patriarchal Cathedral of St. George in Constantinople, formally and unanimously elected Archimandrite Daniel to the Diptychs of the Great Church of Christ as Titular Bishop of the ancient see of Pamphilon.
We greet Bishop-Elect Archimandrite Daniel with this good news and are moved that His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew and the Holy and Sacred Synod have recognized in the Archimandrite’s person a truly worthy candidate to shepherd and serve God’s children along the narrow path, which leads to salvation. May the Grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Love of God the Father and the Communion of the Holy Spirit be with Bishop-Elect Daniel throughout each and every moment of his devoted service in Christ’s Vineyard enabling him to inspire all those entrusted to his spiritual care in that Grace, in that Love and in that Communion.
The plans for the consecration of Archimandrite to the episcopacy are currently under development and will be realized during the coming spring season. All parishes, clergy and faithful will be fully informed as to the fullness of these plans in the near future.
In the Love of our Lord,
+ CONSTANTINE, Metropolitan
