Our High School Mission Trip to St. John the Compassionate Mission is already almost half way full. We are extending the deadline until April 30, 2008. Please encourage the youth of your parishes ages 15-18 to consider becoming a part of this trip.
The dates are August 10-17, 2008 and the trip cost is $750 which includes airfare, lodging and meals. Eighteen year olds who will be newly graduated from high school are still eligible for the trip.
St. John the Compassionate Mission is an Apostolate of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox church of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, in co-operation with local Orthodox churches of Greater Toronto serving anyone in need since 1987.
Their purpose is to be and to build an inclusive community through the gifts and the needs that each of us brings. This Community of Love is a place of healing and nourishment occurring through awakening the God-given dignity and value of each person, while responding to each person's needs.
You can learn more about the mission at www.stjohnsmission.org.
The Team Members will also have the opportunity to meet Ukrainian Orthodox Youth in Canada, pilgrimage to local Orthodox places of worship and tour one of the greatest cities in the world.
Please encourage your youth to attend and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. Applications are downloadable at http://www.uocyouth.org/hsmission.html
